Band tshirts can accumulate pretty quickly if you are like me and go see them live at least 3x a year. I had a huge amount of t-shirts from gigs, promo events and VIP tote bags, and some from their website. Spot the odd one tho, a quilty Easter egg, that refers to one of Jared's movie roles. Most of these have been worn to death, and making a quilt out of them is a good way of preserving the memories. I used approx 20 t-shirts for this project. All logos and pictures were cut out and backed with interfacing, then sewn together in an improv style. I was aiming for a single duvet size quilt.
I backed the quilt with leftover fabric, so it is mostly plain. Wadding was cotton and bamboo mix and it is super warm, has a feel of a lovely weighted blanket.

I still have enough Mars T-shirts to make another quilt, another project on my list of to-do.
Commissions accepted, you must provide T-Shirts, and bear in mind it is a long project.

The post about the 30 Seconds to Mars quilt was really creative, and I enjoyed seeing how a personal interest was turned into such a detailed project. I remember working on a design-related college task where patience and planning were important, and I had used help with an engineering assignment around that time to better organize my technical work. It reminded me that great results often come from dedication, creativity, and attention to small details.
